ASA is the leading independent organisation for promoting effective and faith-based Christian stewardship.

Thirty years ago Peter Fahy, a former Second World War Spitfire pilot, became involved in early stewardship campaigns and soon found himself fighting a different sort of battle. He saw that fund-raising initiatives not based on faith quickly lost their effectiveness. All the time and effort volunteers put in to persuading other people to give more had to be repeated every few years. This became dispiriting for all concerned and the results showed it.

Peter founded ASA, a non-profit making organisation, as the result of his conviction that a Christian's decisions about giving should be based on a relationship with God, not the need for the church to raise money.
